Sime Friendly Boiler Clock does not work?

Sime Friendly Boiler Clock has stopped working - only ticks now and again very slowly and stops. Therefore I cannot time the heating to come on and off and my bill is huge as I have to leave it on low heat and cannot time...

Hi
I solved the same problem with mine by not using it at all!
I replaced it with a Danfoss tp5 programmable thermostat (see www. screwfix.co.uk) Cost around £35 and does a brilliant job.
It connects as a thermostat to the boiler but here is the clever bit, you can program in times of the day with the required temperature so 5 degrees is effectively off and say 22 degrees is on.Mine works a treat as I have the stat in my living room and it keeps the temperature spot on.If you go on holiday just press both buttons and it puts in frost stat mode so the boiler will only cut in when your house to drop below 5 degrees, protecting your pipes.
