we got a radiator took off a wall, and we didnt have any problems, it was when the pipes from the rad got took off, now when we turn our water or heating on, we get a crazy banging noice.
i got it fixed the floating ball in the tank in the loft had got stuck and then i needed to drain the air out of the system

can you tell where abouts the banging is?
it's strange that it happens with the water as well.
is it a combi boiler ?

taken right back to the flow and return pipework and capped off yes they did this. i have tried to bleed the radiators and this hasnt done anything to help.
