how do you take a part the electrolux epic 6500 hose where the power head?

My power head does not work and I think it is a bad hose connection. I do not know how to disconnect the handle with the on/off button from the rst of the hose.

On the top of the handle you will see two indentations. These are screw covers, remove these covers with a very sharp knive, or box cutter. Underneath are torx #10 screws, remove these two screws and carefully seperate the top and bottom of the handle. Start at the wand end and spread the top away from the bottom, and move toward the hose. To remove the bottom half of the handle from the hose you must remove the wire assembly that allow the handle to swivel, put a screwdriver under the assembly and gently lift upward.

Generally the problem is at the two wire connections on the front of the handle where the wand connects, if this is the case you do not have to remove the lower handle assembly from the hose, just the top half with the switch.
