Zanussi FJ1033 Washing Machine - smell of burning?

Washing machine will complete wash cycle but when in spin mode there is a smell of burning (electrical). Have tried to locate source of smell but with no luck - any advice?

The brushes are held in place by two small screws there is a single wire with slide on connection and retaining clip

ahnet - thx for your reply.
It's not the belt rubbing (belt is in good condition).
Can find no sign of melting/burning on wire looms or motor drives (drum, empty, fill).
Just wondering if it could be the drum motor bushes worn as has been mention in reply to others posted problems? If so any advice on how to replace the bushes (I've tried to remove them but they appear to be fixed in position by some means).

Thx.

This could be one of two things.
1-drivebelt is rubbing somewhere along its length.
2-on the spin cycle program-on the programmer itself, the electrical connections may have been burnt,or continue to malfunction-ie,slight connection instead of a full one etc. if this is the case a new programmer will have to be obtained as it would be very difficult to repair unless you like working in sheds on your own for days at a time.
IF ALL ELSE FAILS YOU MIGHT CONSIDER BUYING "HAYNES WASHING MACHINE REPAIR MANUAL".
