MA-982k - blank screen?

I have an ma-982k screen which is losing it's backlight shortly after turning on. I gather from other questions that replacing the electolytic caps on the invertor. I'm having a problem opening the case though - there are two screws at the back at the bottom, and I have also removed the mounting bracket - does anyone have any further suggestions?

Many Thanks

Hi Bob, I have just acquired the same monitor as this from a friend which has the same fault. After you have removed the two screws you have to carefully slide the front casing towards the top of the screen but keeping it flat on the main casing. On each side there are 3 lugs that can be broken if lifted away from the casing. Be patient and you'll remove this easily enough. Let me know how you get on with it as i will also be replacing the capacitors (about 12) on the power supply board. Let's hope this works!!!
