my wife and I bought a ps2 for chrismas for our two children it worked fine until about a month ago the sound just blanked out , we thought it could be our t.v, so we tryed it on my wifes mothers t.v, and still no sound so we are 100% posertive that our playstations sound isnt working , so what shall we do we cant find the recipt so what can we do ?

Hi! I've got a playstation 1, it was perfectly working til yesterday, we tried to put a another cd and didn't work, even we tried to put a music cd but still didn't work. I believe that the laser is dirty. do you know which is the best option to clean it?

The cord could be at fault. Try borrowing a cord from someone you know to see if it corrects the issue. If that does not work the problem may be the ps2's AV port. Try wiggling the cord around to see if you can get some sound to come out of it. Although unlikely, if you have only tested it with one game the disk could be scratched enough to cut out all audio tracks.
