How can I fix my Dyson DC14 low reach vacuum?

While vacuuming the other day, I noticed a change in the sound of the motor and a decline in power. This was followed by an awful burning odor. Any suggestions? Does it sound like my motor is fried, or could it be something else? Thanks...

Hi Lee.

It does sound like the motor.
If your in the UK you should be able to buy a new motor from Ebay at trade prices for around £25 to £30.00 if you need a manual to show you how to fit the motor contact me dyson@gawab.com

Unfortunately, it doesn't smell like rubber and it sounds the same upright or lowered...yikes.
thanks

Hi.

Is the smell electrical or burning rubber ?
Does the machine sound better when handle is in full upright parked position ?
