how can i fix my ford transit?

its been of the road for six months and now i have time to take it for m o t i started it up and oily black water fires out the eguast pipe i let it tick over for half hour and still no diffrent.

my van loses power and will sometimes no rev its losing alot of power there is an orange light flashing on the dash sometimes it will go great then just lose power it usually stays at about 45 mph

You will doubtedly find this to be just water/condensation in the exhaust, check the water in the radiator/header tank, if all is well, take the van on a run, tickover is not sufficient and will just add to the condensation, you should avoid over reving the engine untill its up to running temp, it would be a safe bet to change the oil after a stationary period. Allways keep a time life on the cam belt.

Try giving it a run, more likely is sooty water from the exhaust.
