how can i boot my laptop?

my son has a soliton pro laptop and can't get windows back. when he turns it on it's just a black screen with lot's of jargon. how can i fix this?

black screen my be bad condition of cmos battery or motherboard. If battery is bad, you can buy new one very cheaply. But for m/b it's very expensive.

if you have a windows CD use it and boot from it as if your going to install windows.. when it detects the copy of windows hit R to repair..

Works 99% of time and keeps all (most) settings
