My JVC GR-D70U camcorder no loger powers up?

My JVC GR-D70U camcorder no loger powers up. I have tried charge it, and tried to power it up when connected to the wall charger. I don't know it the battery took adump or the whole camcorder power circuitry took a dump

I have the same model camera. There are three tiny solder on fuses where you plug the charger in. They are little black chips with a white line and lettering on them. Also on the circuit board there is a caution symbol next to each tiny fuse. The only way to fix these without sending the cam off for repair is to goto radio shack, or a electronics repair store and find a solder pencil its like a mrker that draws a conductive liquid across the open chip. The only drawback is that if you have a major short somewhere, you will most likely ruin the camera. I plugged the wrong charger in mine. And you guessed it. It blew 2 of these fuses. But. It works now thanks to a site somewhere on the net that explains it in better detail. The screws are diffrent sizes and not all need to be removed. look for a site on how to dis assemble. also, if anyone keeps getting an error of condensation on their screen and to please wait, there is a neat tip on how to remove that defective sensor. hope that helps. It really does save money. jvc wants about 100 plus shipping. compared to 10 to 12 for that little pencil. The drawback is that if it is serious, it will most likely cost more because you will have further damaged the cam if it was something other than the charge circuit that caused the fuses to blow. But hey, these cameras are old now, and you can get the new "cheap" smaller version at wally world, for around 150 to 200.
