How can I replace the coupler on my Kitchen Aid Blender, Model KSB3WH3?

I need to replace the hard rubber coupler on the motor housing of my Kitchen Aid Blender, Model # KSB3WH3, Serial # WL3507315. Several of the teeth broke off and won't turn the blades in the blender. I need to know what coupler I need, where I can get it, how to get the broken one off, how to put the new one on, and what tools I need to get the job done.

I used the screwdriver pry method, poped off in no time. the coupler is all that will get damaged because of it's softer metal but that's what your replacing anyway.

The mendingshed site still has the parts...Just ordered 2 of them myself and found numerous videos on how to remove the drive piece. (2) Drive Couplers $4.50 plus $4.00 for shipping my total was $13.00

Mendingshed.com has it on their hot item side bar. I have a lot to blend so I bought two. Got the coupler off experimentally before I figured out it was left-handed threads and not a cast-on or set-screw type deal. Less than five bucks apiece and that much shipping and 're in business! THANKS recommenders of Mendingshed.com!

I know it's waaaay after a couple of you mentioned mendingshed.com, but I just wanted to thank you for doing so. My kitchenAid blender (same model as above) was in my garage forEVER. When I finally found it, and tried to clean it up, that same coupling just crumbled into pieces. The KA site doesn't even show the blender or the parts anymore, but I found what I needed, thanks to you guys. Now, I don't have to buy a whole new blender. I'm actually ordering the part right now. So, THANK YOU!

Mending Shed was 5.95 (~15.00 with shipping).

The Gourmet Depot was 9.95 (but only 13.50 with shipping)

I just ordered the part through Mendingshed.com and I am happy to report they attached instructions that were easy to follow and delivered the part within 5-7 business days. Only cost $5.95.

Using a 9/32 ignition wrench (thin) to hold the spindle from turning, use a pair of channel lock pliers to turn the old coupling clockwise until it comes off. Thread the new coupling on the spindle counter clockwise (it has reverse threads) holding the spindle from turning with the ignition wrench. Hand tighten only as the motor of the blender will naturally tighten it more with use.

The part is $5.95 and screws on with a left-hand thread. It is not "pressure fitted".

The easiest way to remove the coupling is to peel off the remaining rubber and expose the steel plate below. The plate has holes in it which can be used with a hammer and punch to tap it in a clockwise direction to unscrew it from the motor base.

Illustrated directions are on the Mending Shed web site. They were recommended by the Kitchen Aid service rep when I called.

Hope this helps.

Call Kitchen Aid small applicance 800-422--1230, follow the prompts. They will give you the option of sending your blender in or calling a service center or parts center in your area. I learned that you can replace the coupler yourself - it is pressure fitted (although I haven't received the part yet ) Have the model and serial numbers ready for the operator. I was told this coupler is universal. Good luck.
