How can I get a black ink stain out of my top?

If it's biro its really easy to shift, but you have to do it before you wash it.

Spray the mark with hairspray, the chemicals in the spray dissolve the ink.

well really you need to take this one to a profesional.
but here goes, if its a water based ink stain, then spray some vanish stain remover, and tap it with a brush, do not brush. then place in your washing machine then it should be alright. but i cant gaurantee anything.
as for oil based ink stain e.g roller ball BIC
then really should take it to a proffesional.
because its a oil based using water(washing machine) isnt effective. you really need a dry cleaning machine.
if you take it to my drycleaners i'll definntely be able to advise you and most probably totally remove the stain.
