Panasonic Tau will not turn on?

The other morning I turned on my panasonic tau and it was fine. In the afternoon I went to turn it on agaig and it would not cut on at all. Tried to plug it in to another outlet and already tried to reset it. Any suggestions?

I have been having the same problem. I replaced the fuse with a new one(250v 6.3a slow-blow) and it went out again ten minutes later. Any ideas?

Hey Everyone...I had the EXACT problem with my TV this morning. I googled this problem...led me to this site and then I tryed replacing the fuse. IT WORKED!!!! It was very easy to replace the tube on my 32" Panasonic Tau. I layed the TV screen on the floor, unscrewed the back panel, and replaced the fuse. VERY VERY SIMPLE! Also, Radio Shack had the fuse I needed and it only cost 3 bucks for a pack of 5 fuses. Thanks again everyone!

A likely cause is a blown fuse inside the TV. The replacement should cost less than $1. If you want to replace it yourself be careful when you remove the back cover from the TV. High voltage remains in the TV even after it is unplugged, especially around the back of the picture tube. The screw next to where the power cord enters the back of the TV needs to be removed too. After the screws are out the back will slide off. The fuse is located on the circuit board next to where the power cord attaches. It's a small glass tube about an inch long with metal ends. Often, if it's burned out you will see a scortch mark near the center of the fuse. If it's burned out you will definately see that the fine wire, that runs end-to-end inside the tube, is broken in the middle. The fuse type may be printed on the circuit board (example: 125/250 V 6.3 A) and that info should be printed on the fuse itself. A Replacement fuse can be purchased at Radio Shack. Take the old fuse with you.

Mine had a burned out fuse. I replaced it for under a dollar, and it has operated fine for almost a year. Fuse is inside the case near where the power plug enters the unit. good luck.
