How do you fix the timing on a Singer Mod# 7462?

My sewing machine is not stiching, seems like it's not catching the bobin thread, I've rethread, changed needles, changed threads & bobin & checked all tensions & everyother gaget & nothing has helped. So could it be the timing & if so how do I adjust it myself?

Thanks!

Hello Monique,
If you have checked everything including making sure the needle is in the correct way round and you are not sewing on material that produces static then chances are the machine is out of time, you can retime the machine yourself but you will need the patience of a saint because it may take you quite a few attempts to get it right, if you want to go ahead I can explain it step by step but you will first need to get yourself a set of allen keys from a car accessory or tool shop, they are not too expensive, just let me know if you want to go ahead, send me an e-mail.
