How can I fix my Dyson DC04 upright vacuum cleaner?

My Dyson DC04 will work for a very limited period of time with reduced suction and then cut out. If left for a period of time it will then work again. The rotating part inside the dust collecting cylinder does not go round. Is it possible to buy a part to fix this?

I think you may have a blockage in either the suction hose somewhere, or the filters need replacing. I suspect the motor is switching off with a thermal cut out due to overheating.
