red led on front of tv stays on until the power button is pushed, then no led or picture/sound. does anyone know if this tv is diy repairable or i am better sending it in for repair?

Hi Stew, i had a similar problem with my 3year old Plasma

I rang philips and spoke to Rob who sorted it all out,
apparently there was a fault in the telly and as a good will gesture was told they would give me the latest Ambilight Plasma for £325.
My old plasma cost £3000, i was told to pack it up and it would be picked up by repair agents at a cost of £47.
The new one should arrive within 15 working days.
