How can I fix my in car sat nav unit in my Range Rover P38?

The screen in just blank white & the unit in the boot takes in the disc for a few seconds then ejects. It will then go through the same proceedure every couple of minutes.
The small led power on light to the unit does not light up anymore.

Hi All I have the same problem from my research it is caused buy removing the car battery while gps unit is still powered,Range Rover says need to replace the unit .MapleAudio.co.uk say they can repair the unit I am waiting on a response from Maple Audio and will post reply

Sir/Madam - did you ever find out how to fix the problem as I have the same problem even after cleaning the disc? I would appreciate it if you would share the information - as any information may assist me to reduce high replacement cost. Thanks.
