How to remove the timer of a Whirlpool Combo Washer/Dryer (LTE5243D)?

I couldn't find the answer anywhere.

I couldn't find the answer anywhere, so I figured it out. Here is the solution (specifically model LTE5243DQ3):

To access behind the front control panel:

1. There is a small round cylinder-like metal tab that looks like it accepts a torx (star shaped) screwdriver at the bottom of the control panel on each end (left and right). Use pliers (preferably locking pliers) to pull down on one of the tabs (they are spring loaded) and keep it held down: this unhooks the top of the panel on that side, so pull that top corner out, release the tab and repeat on the other side. The control panel now comes out (with wires attached) and can be unhinged at the bottom.

2. If you need to remove the timer: First release the timer knob by pushing it in and then pull the black tab out of the hole at the back of the timer using a fingernail or screwdriver (comes out about half an inch). The knob will now come out easily, and the wheel behind it should be able to slide out with some encouragement (You do not need to take it apart - I didn't know this and so I unnecessarily took it apart, slightly breaking it, because it didn't slide out super easily). Disconnect the wire connector, remove the 1 screw holding the timer in place, slide it sideways to unhook it, and pull it out. Unlike (it seems) all of the other instructions out there, you cannot simply push the knob in and turn it counter-clockwise to remove it, that black tab at the back needs to be pulled out.
