My portable DVD is playing, I can hear the sound but no pictures. Can this be fixed?

I tried this on mine and it worked. I got a cd that u put in a computer drive that is supposed to clean the laser. I let it run through the process (which is a song and instructions) and then it worked just fine. I bought the cleaner at walmart, cheap and better than buying a new player
