Can anyone let me know what error E20 means on Zanussi Jetsystem 1000 model?

I keep getting the E20 flashing and beeping on my Zanussi Jetsystem 1000 Model FJS1025W. If i switch the machine off and then back on it works ok. Not sure how long this will be effective and wondered if anyone had any ideas.

Thanks

Wahoo. Thought the machine was dead. Like said already, it was a build up of fluff and dog hairs in the connector/filter where the waste pipe plugs into the u-bend.

Worked out it must have been that by disconnecting the hose and putting it into a bowl and quickly turning the machine back on and off as soon as it pumped the water out of the hose into the bowl.

E20 error means filter blocked with fluff etc

I had this error, the machine can't empty. I had to get water out through the filter (do while not washer empty;place baking tin under filter; open filter; close when tin full; empty tin;done) until I could open the door and remove the washing. Lay it on it's side, Locate the pump near and below the filter housing, remove the three screws then extract the body of the pump. In my case the impeller was completely choked with fluff. I cleaned it and the filter housing/filter, reassembled then run it empty on the hottest cycle. If you are in a hard water area, add some scalex/fernox/calgon/brewers citric acid. Now works fine. NB this really is a simple DIY job. My machine is 2 yrs old and I clean the filter every 3 months or so - now will do it every month.

E20 means your fluff filter / waste pipe is getting blocked and the machine cannot pump out the water. Try unblocking the fluff filter first at the bottom of the machine. This should work, if the fault appears again though and the fluff filter is clean your waste pipe is blocked and you need to flush this through. Can you tell what I've just spent my weekend doing, I have had to get the most unbelievable amount of limescale out of these 2 areas but machine is now working fine again.
