How can I dim my Tevion Car/CD/Bluetooth?

I purchased the car/CD etc. from Aldi. The illumination is much too bright for night time. How can I dim it?

The resistor mod works OK if you just turn on the lights, but as soon as you turn the radio on (with ignition on of course) the LED's & display come on at full brightness again. It's as if the input from the red wire (IGN switch), & the white wire (dash lights) are "ORed" together to drive the display. so which ever wire has the highest voltage on it will be connected to the display. Only solution I can think of is to open up the radio, & trace the circuit back from the illumination, & change the way it works so that the white wire ON disables the illumination feed from the red wire. By the way, if the display goes off completely, you will need to replace the white LED's under the display (just done mine)

Hi my background is electronics design/repair.
The display is blindingly bright at night.
So here is the fix... use at your own risk...or stop reading now.

Disconnect the radio harness from the vehicle.
Find the wire labelled 'lights' .
it may be white. anyhow the wire colour codes are labelled on top of the radio case.

cut this wire about 10cm from the harness connector. strip the two ends.
find a 1K Ohm resistor and connect it to the two bared ends.

When you turn the sidelights on the display will dim drastically.

If it is too dim then experiment with 330 Ohm, 270 Ohm , 220 Ohm resistors.
Or consider fitting a 2K2 potentiometer to the dashboard.
Simply connect to the centre lug of the potentiometer and one of the outside lugs instead of a resistor.

you need a cable like those colourful cables/wire the the light should work........thank.......you

ANY ONE KNOW WHERE TO SEND IT TO BE REPAIRED

Hi,I have bought (presumably) the same car/cd/bluetooth unit (Tevion HSC7700M-BT) and also do not know how to dim the display for night driving?
Anyone out there able to help?
