My husband and I were able to fix our APEX player by removing just 7 screws on the outer casing. Once we could see inside, it was obvious the DVD had somehow slipped out of the saddle so to speak. We repositioned the DVD and plugged the unit back in. Thankfully, we hadn't pried too much on the door. We not only fixed the player but our kids' Thomas the Train Video was no worse for the wear. Good Luck! Hope this helps!
