What do I need to attach copper pipe to my outside Kerosene tank?

I have kerosene fuelled heating and wish to move the location of my tank so must extend the copper pipe. I have 10mm copper pipe and I am thinking of using a compression joint to attach the new pipe to the existing pipe. Is this ok and if so do I need to use that PFTE tape or what should I use in addition to the compression joint. I have been told that the kersone will break down the tape but nobody can confirm this.
Thanks

You can use a compression joint, do not use PTFE, use a joint compound, ask at any Plumb Centre for oil rated compound
