Our Hotpoint BF1 680 dishwasher won't start on any programme. The last time it ran, the salt light came on, I re-filled the container and now I can't get any response from the programme selection button.

If I close the door with it "on", it makes a lot of 'rumbling' noises, but nothing actually happens

SOUNDS LIKE ITS IN FLOOD. THE BASE MAY HAVE WATER IN AND LIFTED THE FLOAT SWITCH.
