Working keypad?

I was using my sony vaio pcg-992l and it was working fine. Then I noticed that the keys on the right side of the keyboard weren't working right. When I hit the "j" key it would type the number 6, if I hit the "k" key it would type an astrik. Does anyone know why this would suddenly happen or how to fix it?

sounds like you have inadvertently selected the numeric pad option - don't worry, its not broken. I dont have one of these keyboards so I can't say what key sequence you use to get back to normal typing. However, its usually something like Fn (function enable key) and another key pressed simultaneously such as Fn + F10 or Fn + F11. Iff either of those work, generally pressing them again will turn the function back on...
hope this helps
