The pilot light is on and the boiler fires up i think it makes the sound and kicks in to go along with timer but no hot water or central heating, totally baffled.

Hope you can shed some light on this concern.

Can you hear the pump running Billy? ..... If you can then try and manipulate the diverter valve located near to the pump.
