how to get my radiators hot?

When my central heating system is on my radiators only get luke warm, even if the room thermostat is on full, 30 degrees +. Can you advise of the likely problem / cause ? The wall mounted boiler has been serviced recently and is fine. The system hadn't been used for 18 months due to the property being empty, could this be anything to do with the problem.

First of all it sounds like the central heating pump is not coming on. You must locate this and see if it is 'humming'. It could be a thermostat problem - does the dial click around the room termperature mark ? You can usually change the pump quite easily if there is a shut off valve either side. Another thing to check is the water level in the radiators. Bleed them using radiator key when the system is not running until you get water coming out. I suppose as the water is not being cirulated that the boiler is not staying on for long ?
