how can i fix my squire strat?

the neck on my strat has snapped from the body, the 4 screws that held it in place have just slightly splintered on the neck. it is a clean break that looks as though it could just be screwed back on. is it as simple as that or would i need to take it to be repaired professionally? it is a japanese vintage model 1980-81.
thankyou.

Frank's answer is good. If no go, try some fatter screws. I must say how dismayed I was when I got my first genuine USA Strat. The neck to body connection is incredibly primitive...makes you wonder what your paying for...oh hum.

Hi lee,
What iv'e done before get a few tooth pick's ( wood ) push them into the holes where the screws were then trim them with a knife screw the neck back on hey presto.

Cheers Frank.
