Worcester 240 boiler control issue?

The boiler and timer seem fine but they do not turn the boiler off when they are supposed to. I set a programme, the boiler kicks in then after a period of time it just keeps on going. The only way to turn it off is to switch off the mains supply. Any suggestions??
