How can I fix Dirty copies from Canon photocopier 6016?

I was given an old canon 6016 photocopier for free. No manuals or paperwork came with it. I bought new toner. The copies come out dirty. Otherwise the machine seems to work okay? Is there anything I can do to fix the dirty copies? Is the machine a complete loss? I live in an island in Scotland, so do not have access to a person who could service it?

Depends on what you mean by dirty copies. It could be thet the drum is worn out in which case it will need a new one. I can not remember where it is but some where on the front when you open it up is a small knob that adjusts the copy density. Try it one way and the the other and see if it lightens the copy.
