The latch tab on the dvd side of my pair broke. To replace the spring for the latch you will need to remove the screws on the back of the screen, pry carefully the seem between the front and half of the screen portion. Insert the spring on a tab on the latch button.
If you are talking about the spring which pops out the dvd protection plate, you will need to take the screws out of the back of the unit and carefully put the flat spring back into the brackets near the bottom of the hinge.
