Can anyone help me please? Ive got a really old high level toilet that i am going to take out, trouble is i cant seem to drain the water from the pan, and ive snapped the chain. Im a woman and dont really no what to do.

locate the stop cock (tap) on the pipe feeding the cistern and shut that off, if there isn't one then see if the supply is from the cold water storage tank usually in the loft and shut the feed from there. Failing that locate the main stop cock to the house usually located under the kitchen sink and turn that off and you should be free now to remove it.
