AWG995 door handle?

How do I replace the door handle on a Whirlpool AWG995? The handle broke off and now I can't open the door - I've ordered and received a replacement handle kit but can't work out how to fix it with the door still closed.

I had a machine with the handle broken off in a holiday rental property. We'd put the childrens favourite soft toys in, and then couldn't get them out!! We used a shoelace to pull on the two metal parts of the latch, and it popped open!

how do i replace a door handle on AWG995- whirlpool washer? Having trouble placing the parts, especially the white plastic part that slots into the machine- which way up does it go. any illustrations please

Thanks Sid - I managed to get it fixed - opened the door by pushing string through the seal and pulling the latch - thanks for the help

if u have not fixed it yet - let me know... i have spare parts for this machine in stock. where in uk are u? (handle £5) -- its normally the clear plastic but that breaks here!!!

use a screwdriver to open the door - it shoul dbe easy to work out.... fitting new handle is also simple as only 2 scews - but then again if u cant work out how to even open the door you could be stuck here.
