Can I put a newer engine in my old transit?

Ive got an M reg Ford transit I want to replace the engine and was hoping to put a turbo version in instead of my 2.5i lump does anyone know of a succesful project to maybe offer me some advice i'd appreciate more than why and don't you idiot as this seems to be the general response thus far thanks in advance Matt

There's no reason why you can't do it, if you go on the Transit Forum there are quite a few people that have done it. There is even a guy running a 2005 engine in a 1969 Mk1 Transit.
