My Sewing machine won't catch the bobbin thread after a few stiches. HELP!?

I have a Kenmore Sewing Machine model number 385.15358. This morning I replaced the needle since it has been a while. I added a new bobbin with thread the same way I always have. The thread from the top will not catch the bobbin thread. It just bunches up in the bobbin area. I have taken it apart to clean and remove line. I've taken of the foot cover and removed lint from there. I've also put the old needle back on and tried using an old bobbin that worked before. I'm not very technical when it comes to the machine. I'm still new at this. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks You!

Hello Victoria,
First of all make sure you have put the needle in the correct way round, make sure you have the presser foot up when you thread it so the thread goes inbetween the tensions discs, top tension round about number 5, if it still misses stitches after putting a new needle in and you are not sewing on a silky or fabric that creates static then the chances are the machine will need retiming, you can do this with patience or take it to a shop, any further problems e-mail me drivewithken@blueyonder.co.uk
