PROBLEM WITH RAVENHEAT 100ET?

WHEN WE HAVE CENTRAL ON WHEN IT REACHES TEMP THE ORANGE FLAME LIGHT COMES ON AND THE BOILER WONT FIRE UP WHEN THE TEMP LOWERS. WHAT WE HAVE TO DO TO GET THE BOILER WORKING AGAIN IS -SWITCH OFF AND ON AGAIN WHEN THINGS HAVE COOLED DOWN AFTER ABOUT 10MINS AND IT WILL WORK. ANY IDEAS PLEASE.

hi again james, just thought that your boiler has a red box attatched to the gas valve. these r made by honeywell and r prone to burning out. prob best to get it checked by competent engineer.

Thanks again Paul. We changed the one on the r/h side we will now check if 240v at coil im glad you have said that as I was suspecting the gas valve myself. james Harpur.

hi james, have u definately swapped htg sensor and not dhw sensor by accident?
when trying to fire up again c if 240v at gas valve as secondary solonoid may be failing. dpmartin17@aol.com

THANK YOU PAUL, WE HAVE REPLACED THE THERMISTER AND WE STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. WHEN IT IS COOL IT WILL DO WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO FIRE UP AND WHEN IT REACHES THE SET TEMP THE FLAME GOES OUT AFTER A WHILE IT THEN TRIES TO START UP AGAIN BUT IT WONT AND THE ORANGE LIGHT STAYS ON.IF WE SWITCH IT OFF FOR ABOUT 15 MINS AND SWITCH IT ON AGAIN IT WILL FIRE UP AS IT SHOULD BUT THE ODD THING IS IF WERE LUCKY AFTER IT REACHES TEMP AND SHUTS DOWN IT SOMETIMES WILL FIRE UP AGAIN. WHAT DO YOU THINK PAUL? OR ANYONE ELSE. THANK YOU.

htg thermistor gone to a hih level on ohms readin. basically thermistor thinks boiler is upto temp even though it isnt. approx £8 to fix. dpmartin17@aol.com
