Windows XP with router?

For some reason I cant seem to get my new computer working with my Peak router.
My old computer has Win98 and works fine. The new computer is running XP Professional and wont work with the router. If I connect it directly to the cable modem it works fine. This is what leads me to believe it to be a software problem/conflict. I have another XP por computer working on the router as well as a XP home Laptop.
Anybody got any suggestions as I am now stumped.

have you tried looking for the router website they should have help available.

If half the pings are lost I reckon either your TCP/IP settings are wrong (incorrect gateway, duplicate addresses on the network?) or your network lead is faulty.

Yes, I have tried all the obvious things.
One thing I did try was pinging the server and I only got 50%.

have you tried the network wizard?
