DC04 access to switch wiring?

How do you get into the switch on the DC04, my power cable has broken just at the conical rubber flex before the switch and I want to reconnect it to the switch but cant work out how to get in to it and don't want to force it.

the switch cover has to come off it is held in place by small plastic protrusions on the switch cover itself you have to slide something thin down the sides to disengage them and you will find a screw underneath
