How do I improve radio reception on Rover 200?

The radio reception on my Rover 214 is very poor. The aerial is roof mounted, just above the driver's door. Would fitting an
AM-FM radio Aerial Amplifier (PRC9035) help?
I don't know the head unit number, but it's compatible with a DC082 cd changer unit.

before you go buying anything check that the earth conection is clean where the aerial conects to the body and that its not rusted then check that there is no break in the wire or shorting
