what is wrong with my hotpoint first addition 1000 wma10?

my washing machine starts to fill up with water, then after about 30 seconds stops, it will not spin or agitate. Ive checked the belt which is ok ,can anyone help me,many thanks

try cleaning the pump fan may be blocked somtimes coins manage to get stuck in there therfore the small fan inside jams this should be moving at all times when machine is on
