how can i fix my myson apollo boiler?

i turned off the hot water and left the central heating on. this morning my heating worked for about 30 mins and than went luke warm and the pipes began to bang. i tried to let out air by opening the valve on the tank and boiler but still no luck.

This is a low water content boiler and there is either air in it or the pump has gone or you have turned a valve which has stopped the flow and return to the boiler, How did you turn off the hot water was it by turning a valve????, the sound of banging is the water boiling in the boiler/ pipes, Hope this helps
