Panasonic Business FAX UF-9000 error "check scanner e01-31"?

The faxes do not print correctly. The error message shows as check scanner e01-31. One month out of warranty. The repair guy cannot provide a clue. Suggests replacing board but does not garantee this will work. Any other specific suggestions?

Scanner Lamp is not working,

Start with the Lamp then try the SPC board and last SC PCA.

Order of probability and cost!!!

UPDATE FIRMWARE TOOAS THERE HAVE BEEN MANY UPDATES TO THIS MACHINE!!
