Hi Melanie,

I dont know how old you question is but I might have the answer. Recently a member of my family asked me to look at their dishwasher (adl347) as it was tripping the MCB/RCD in the electrical box of their home.
I removed the dishwasher completely and stripped the comonents from the underside.
There are 2 electrical pumps, one for the clean heated water & one for the waste water, when I removed the pump itself I found what can only be described as a 'mince pie foil' and the rinse aid seal, (grey in colour - make sure yours is still where its supposed to be) stuck in the waste water pump.

I removed this and checked everything else, built the machine back-up, and ran it. It does not trip anything now but it does sound an alarm after washing for about 1 hr. I am still looking for an answer myself as to why this is. Hope this helps and I am not to late....
