HOW CAN I FIX MY PHILIPS DVDR 880 WHICH CANNOT RECORD??

WHENEVER I TRY TO RECORD SOMETHING FROM TV USING MY DVDR 880, THE PICTURE ON THE TV FREEZES AND THE RECORDING STOPS AUTOMATICALLY.

Hi Jonas, the only thing you can do to repair economically is to buy a cheap dvd recorder & swap over the dvd engine (its easy) & can be done at home & cost is about £20-£30, its literally plug & play. I have successfully done this on a dvdr1000 & dvdr980, the 880 & 890 use the same dvd engine as its called (vae8020) is the same as used by quite a few manufacturers i.e. some later Philips models,Thomson, Daewoo, Mico & Yamaha to name just a few.
