Madness I have a one bed flat and three of these things. Mine let out heat in the middle of the night?! What am I doing wrong?

I am having trouble understanding how these heaters work ?

They are coming on but OK but I am on a elec key meter and I am noticing with just one heater on the heater is taking is £3 per day (elec).
This is too expensive for a one bed flat.

My question is How can I put the heater on for 1 - 2 hours on a evening ?

THESE UNIT,S ARE THERMAL STORAGE UNIT'S.THEY HEAT UP ON THE NIGHT RATE ELECTRICITY.(THE ELEC. ELEMENT'S HEAT THE BRICK INSIDE)THE AUTO SET KNOB IS TO TELL IT HOW MUCH HEAT TO STORE (YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE WEATHER LIKE A WEATHER MAN)& THE ROOM TEMPRATURE KNOB CONTROLS THE ROOM TEMP.(A DAMPER ON TOP OF THE BRICK STORAGE AREA OPENS & CLOSES DEPENDING ON ROOM TEMP.)

Your dials are labelled different to mine, your 'room temp' dial will be for output.

I have this heater and posted below your question as mine is broken at the moment!

Anyway, basically the input dial controls how much heat is generated and stored inside the bricks. The output dial specifies how much of that heat to let out the following day. Try setting the input to 5 and output to 4 and see how that suits your room (output must be set lower than input or it will let out more heat that it has!). There is no light to tell you it is on by the way, but there should be a switch on the wall to turn it on/off. Economy 7 will do the rest when midnight arrives.
