PANASONIC SA-HT730?

THE DVD WON'T DO ANYTHING. THE DISPLAY SHOWS THE WORD "INIT" IF YOU CAN TELL ME ANYTHING TO TRY AND GET THIS GOING AGAIN, I WOULD APPRECIATE IT.

THANK YOU

my dvd die...but I sure the speakers are still good..

I hooked up the sysem and only one speaker is working and the woofer. I changed the speaker wires on the woofer and the same speaker worked great but the others are still dead can all five speakers left be bad all at the same time ?

I HAVE A PIONEER HOMETHEATER SYSTEM FOR CLOSE TO 10 YEARS NOW!
I HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO AD!

ROCKOJECK, January 2009
It would appear that I spoke too soon. The DVD player stopped working again and when I tried to reset the unit again, it went back into the INIT loop. I can't believe that Panasonic would sell a P.O.S unit that dies after 2 years of use! I now have a service manual for the unit but it pretty much says to start replacing components. I also have the firmware update CD and I’ll have a recovery CD shortly. I’d like to post them all online to see if someone can figure out what is causing this error.

My Home theatre started to do the same thing last week and I manged to get it going again by reseting the ratings password and changing the batteries in my remote. Oddly enough, I have never set a ratings password so I suspect the batteries caused the issue. Seems to be back to normal. Instructions for the reset are in the manual. Here's a link to the online one at Panasonics website http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/SAHT730.PDF
