how do i change the ringtone on my durabrand dt201?

i cant find the instructions for my phone and i cant change the ringtone or put the backlight on.
its a digital cordlesss phone with answering machine.

Press and hold the volume button (bottom left). The ring tone will start playing, simply use the left and right arrow buttons to scroll the different tones. Press the volume button to save your tone.

in the standby mode,press and hold VOLUME,the bell icon flashes and the display shows the current melody settingpress the < > or the number buttons on the keypad to select melody then press Volume button to save and return to standby.Hope this helps
