How do I remove my EP3002 from the wall?

My 16 year old Potterton Controller EP3002 is not responding to time settings. I have set the HW & CH slides to run and I am controlling the boiler via the wall thermostat. What do I need to do to rectify this?. Is it time to replace the controller and if so with what model?. How do I remove the u/s one from the wall?.

firstly you can still get ep programmers out of wolsely parts secondly if you look at the programmer at the bottom rhs about 20mm from the rh edge there is a space push up a screw driver with a wide tip until you feel resistance then apply a wee bit more pressure and gently pull the programmer at the base away from the wall make sure the programmer is isolated from the power supply the replacement can then be installed you dont have to change the back plate
