heating problem?

I have a vaillant combi boiler. Hot water is always fine, but can only get the heating on every now and then. Could someone let me know what they think the problem might be as it is sending me nuts.

do you have a room stat on one of walls? (maybe in hallway or landing). if so have a look what number its on ? if its quite low then turn it up!!
