why is my internet homepage appearing over my desktop wallpaper ?

Computer has suddenly started to overlay, by about 80% my internet homepage over my desktop picture - all icons appear over the top of it as normal. Can'y get rid of it!! Control Panel - display is showing the picture which is hidden.

Think your active desktop is enabled, right click on your desktop and see if there is an active desktop option, if so use it to disable it and the desktop will return to normal. I assume you are running XP.
